Final Persuasive Blog Post- Go To Chile!

Image result for Chile andes mountainChile is the longest country in the world, reaching over most of the western part of South America. There few countries that can match the full spectrum of different environments, spanning from vast cities to mountains to glaciers, that Chile claims. You won’t be able to experience the penguin-filled islands of southern Chile, or the beaches of north Chile from your couch. A television show cannot even begin to show the depth of Chile. It offers amazing opportunities for every one's interests. You need to visit Chile, and according to the U.S. Travel website, Santiago is one of the best places in South America to visit (Ethos). Chile has wonderful scenery that will feel like home to anybody. It is often called the safest country in South America, and I’m sure no one would want to visit a place where you could be hurt.

You can visit the wondrous old cathedrals, and homes, or take a trip to the cleverly named "chilecon valley". If you want to stay in the present, the festivals and celebrations let you indulge in the wonderful culture of Chile. If you're looking for a rush of adrenaline, or to reconnect with nature, Chile is the place to go. Skiing and snowboarding are available in the Andes Mountains and there are hundreds of different national parks to visit.

What makes Chile different from all the other South American countries you may ask? Well, Chile is refreshing, or it is always making itself better. Chile is one of those places where people are trying to do better than what they already have done, for example, they are using more and more green energy. They have giant megawatt solar farms in the Atacama Desert. And it really shows the amazing quality of the country and the people in the country.

Chile offers a span of different activities that are entertaining to people of all ages Whether your old or young, Chile has something for you to do. Just as Chile offers something for everyone, tourism was reflected as it went up by 26% from last year(logos)! People know that Chile is one of if not the best nation to visit on a vacation anywhere. From the day we stepped off our plane at the airport to the festivities and sights, we loved every moment of it. No matter what sort of trip you are looking for, Chile is a country we would wholeheartedly recommend a vacation to.

We started off our day with a good breakfast from Restaurant Viva La Vida. Breakfast was simple, but it was decent. We ate what we would consider “normal” breakfasts- eggs, juice, and other foods you could find in America. Once we had finished our breakfast we returned to our hotel to watch Chilean television. After about an hour of brushing up on our Spanish we went to the road to hail a taxi. We were going to the airport today, this is because we had decided we wanted to see all of Chile, not only Santiago. Penguin Tour/ Museo Nao Victoria- Ecosystem/ History

Once we were done with the tour we decided to get some lunch at Café Tapiz, a nearby cafe. The food there was great and we decided we’d be going back soon. After lunch we decided we needed something else to do. Joey found us a nearby museum called Museo Nao Victoria, a museum about the great navigators of the past. They built a full size replica of the HMS beagle which was one of the most impressive things we’d ever seen. We got to go up on the ship and look around. Next we went to the Nao Victoria , a Magellan ship. It is amazing to think that these life size replicas were built so quickly. Compared to building a ship in the age of exploration, the replicas must’ve seemed swift. Once we landed on the island we started on the blocked off trail and the guide took us to a common penguin burrowing spot. Our guide explained the blocking off of the trail. Cementerio Municipal and the Menèndez Family residence - History

Today was our last day in Chile we were very excited. We were going to go to a very famous cemetery in Punta Arenas before we had to catch 20 hours of flights home. We decided that because it was last day we were going to treat ourselves to every meal. For breakfast Jake found a restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. It had great food and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. Once we had finished we walked back to our hotel stopping at shops on the way. Once we returned we packed our bags so we wouldn't have to worry about anything before we left. We went outside and walked over to Cementerio Municipal. We walked around for about an hour looking at the tombs. They had ones from small stones on the ground to massive ornate tombs that towered above us. We took pictures posing in front of the craziest colored and shaped graves. We even saw the graves of some famous Chilean figures including the Menèndez-Behety family and even Antonio Soto a famous Chilean labor rights ...
